The NT1 is a revolutionary RØDE 1" condenser microphone. Although the housing of the new NT1 hardly differs from the NT1-A, the microphone itself has been completely redesigned. Only the grille has been left unchanged. With the NT1, RØDE engineers wanted to combine innovation and tradition: the capsule has been completely redesigned. Codenamed HF6, it is a perfect example of RØDE's fusion of artistic design and state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques. Its sound signature is reminiscent of the best vintage microphones but with an extremely low noise level. With a slightly accentuated midrange, a silky smooth treble and a warm, round bass, the NT1 stands out from all other microphones in its class. In addition, it is the first RØDE microphone with a Rycote Lyre suspension inside the capsule to minimise external vibrations in the most reliable way. The capsule is connected to state-of-the-art electronics, designed to ensure the lowest self-noise level in the studio microphone market. The numbers speak for themselves: the NT1 has a self-noise of only 4.5dBA! The mic body is machined from 6061 aluminium and nickel plated for corrosion resistance. The topcoat is made of durable, military grade ceramic, using state-of-the-art electrostatic application techniques developed by RØDE to ensure an extremely hard, scratch and dent resistant finish. The NT1 is supplied with the new RØDE SMR suspension. With a unique dual Lyre suspension system, the SMR cancels out external mechanical noise and vibration and enhances the effect of the Rycote Lyre system by using a smaller internal Lyre system as a tensioning element. This keeps each Lyre system in a neutral position where it is most effective at cancelling vibrations. The SMR suspension's removable pop filter is made entirely of metal and is extremely robust. Easily washable, it is as effective as it looks and reduces plosive noise considerably. The NT1 is designed and manufactured in Australia, and is covered by RØDE's outstanding 10 year warranty.
