The EXBOX.BLDS is a sophisticated MADI failover for redundant production environments with advanced reliability requirements. In addition to switching from one input to the other in the event of a MADI signal loss, the device incorporates a unique DirectOut feature: the Buffer Loop Detection System™
ENHANCED CONTROL SIGNAL
The Buffer Loop Detection System™ is used to detect silence or a corrupted input signal (e.g. caused by playout application blocking (repetitive buffers) or skip/repeat playback due to system overload.
A supplied software generates a .wav file containing a low level signal which is inserted into the MADI stream. The artificial design of the Buffer Loop signal detection allows reliable and inaudible switching within a sample.
SWITCHING INPUT
The MADI input can be manually activated by a push button on the front panel of the unit. Different redundancy modes (prioritisation of inputs) allow the triggering behaviour of the EXBOX.BLDS to be adjusted.
GPI / GPO
Four GPIs and four GPOs are accessible via DSUB-9 connectors. The GPIs can be used to select the MADI input or to trigger a switch. The GPOs provide monitoring of the power input and switching status.
EVOLUTION
The unit's firmware can be updated via the built-in USB port.
SAFE OPERATION
Two robust Hirose sockets are available to connect up to two external power supplies or battery packs for safe operation with redundancy.
