The Hacienda Labs 01 DI is a high end, low cost, class A DI box that enhances any signal that passes through it. Whether it's to add a bit of bite to your instruments or to sublimate a stereo mix (be careful, you'll need two!), on stage or in the studio, it offers multiple uses.
It is equipped with a buffer and a Carnhill VT24499 transformer. The buffer switch is to be tested in each new application; the "effect" acts essentially on the transients and the top of the spectrum.
Between the smoothness of a pleasant warmth added to your sources, or the axe slicing in the transients to make your signals more nervous, you won't have to choose between two devices. Without compromise where competitors at the same price are content with mediocre and tasteless DIs, the Hacienda Labs 01 DI is definitely the best choice in this price range. Very high input impedance, higher than 4 Megohms, thus not loading the source.
- Input impedance independent of pad position.
- Link output either directly or after a buffer, avoiding the problem of long cables between the DI and the amp, and avoiding losses on amps or pedals with low input impedance.
- Gain 0db or +13 dB, allowing to attack the preamp or the converter input in the best conditions.
- Earth lift on the output XLR to avoid ground loops.
