Radial's SW8 auto-switcher provides redundant backup by automatically switching between two 8-channel sources such as a pair of digital recorders, or a playback system.

Designed primarily for concerts and shows where playbacks are used for orchestrations, sound effects tapes, etc., the SW8 can detect a device malfunction and automatically switch to a second "backup" machine to ensure a seamless performance.

Using SW8 is easy! Connect your two synchronized playback systems and record a sine wave on channel 1. If the tone disappears, the SW8 front panel will alert you with a red LED that a problem has occurred. If you wish, SW8 will sound an alarm, cut the signal, or automatically switch to your second machine. For larger systems, the SW8 can be cascaded by linking multiple machines together with a single instrument cable.

In standard 19" rack format, Radial's SW8 auto-switcher is equipped with an impressive assortment of connectors, TRS or D-Sub 25 jacks for inputs and XLR or D-Sub 25 for outputs to meet any technical challenge.

Since its release, the Radial SW8 has earned a serious reputation.
